Simplepages vs Carrd: Which gets your page live faster?
One generates your page with AI. The other gives you a blank canvas. Here's which to pick — and when it matters.
What it actually looks like

Drag blocks into one page by hand. Real forms, checkout, a custom domain and analytics each sit behind a paid tier, and there is no AI to build or edit the page for you.
Describe your business, get a real page. Leads, sales, bookings, SEO, and analytics are wired in from the first publish, and it grows into a full website when one page isn't enough. Edit as much as you want; the hundredth change costs the same as the first.
What each one gives you
How editing is priced
Flat annual: Free, $9, $19 or $49 a year. Genuinely cheap, but forms, checkout, a custom domain and analytics are split across the paid tiers, most on the top one.
Free to build, pay only when you publish. No credits, no meter, no top-ups.
The real question isn't "which costs less?" — it's "which costs less when you include the 3 hours you spent building and tweaking?"
Neither is bad. Different jobs.
- Price
- Granular control
- Proven track record
- Source code export
- Speed to live page
- No design decisions required
- Copy that converts
- Leads and payments built in
Carrd is loved for simplicity. It also has a ceiling.
Perfect for a one-pager; people hit the wall the moment they need more.
The inability to nest containers inside each other greatly limits layout options.
It does not count with an incorporated e-commerce system so I cannot create an online store.
Building a complex website on carrd is impossible.

Who should choose which
Choose Carrd if you…
- Enjoy the design process and want pixel-level control
- Are on an extremely tight budget (under $50/year)
- Need to spin up many simple sites quickly
- Want a link-in-bio replacement or "coming soon" placeholder
- Already know exactly what your page should look like
Choose Simplepages if you…
- Need a landing page live today, not this weekend
- Run a lean team or solo practice and need standout pages without a full design cycle
- Don't want to make font, colour, and layout decisions
- Need conversion-focused copy — not just a pretty page
- Have opened a page builder, stared at it, and closed the tab
FAQ
Yes. Carrd supports custom domains on Pro Standard ($19/year) and above. On Simplepages, the free tier is for drafting; every paid plan (Launch and above) includes custom domains. Each live landing page or site can be its own domain, and you can add and verify domains yourself. You can also use a simplepages.page subdomain on paid plans.
Stop building. Start shipping.
Describe your business. Get a landing page. Publish it. The whole thing takes about 2 minutes.
